Black-owned first
We begin our search with Black-owned, African-founded and African-connected beauty brands. Ekome aims to give distinctive brands a platform while making discovery easier for customers.
OUR APPROACH
Ekome is building a different kind of beauty destination — one shaped around the needs, experiences and routines of the people we serve.
African Beauty. Global Performance.
THE EKOME EDIT
Four principles shape how we discover, consider and present beauty at Ekome.
01
We begin our search with Black-owned, African-founded and African-connected beauty brands. Ekome aims to give distinctive brands a platform while making discovery easier for customers.
02
Textured hair is not an afterthought. We consider the realities of curls, coils, locs, protective styles, moisture, cleansing, conditioning, styling and scalp care.
03
We organise discovery around routines and needs, helping customers understand where cleansing, conditioning, treatment, moisture, styling and maintenance fit together.
04
A powerful brand story can get our attention, but it cannot be the only reason a product earns its place. We consider formulation, intended function, product information and suitability.
FROM DISCOVERY TO EKOME
We look for interesting brands, founders and products from the UK, Africa and the wider global beauty industry.
We examine where the product fits, who it is for, what role it performs and the information supporting it.
Products are organised around genuine hair, skin and body-care needs rather than simply being added to a catalogue.
We give space to ingredients, founders, techniques, cultures and product knowledge so customers can understand more about what they are choosing.
We want discovery to feel considered: products with a reason to be there, brands with a story worth knowing, and routines customers can understand.
BRANDS & PARTNERSHIPS
We're interested in hearing from brands creating thoughtful products for our community.
